The right chair depends on how you’ll lift it, where you’ll ride it and whether you’ll travel with it. Here’s what to weigh before you buy.
Folding power wheelchairs collapse in one piece in seconds and are the easiest to travel with.
Quick-disassembly chairs come apart into lighter pieces, so no single lift is heavy.
Lightweight power chairs are made to go with you: in the car, on a plane, through narrow doorways. Full-size and heavy-duty power chairs weigh 100+ lbs and suit full-time indoor and outdoor use, higher weight capacities or advanced seating.
Not sure which you need? A free in-home demo is the easiest way to find out.
1Your car: measure the trunk opening and think about who will lift the chair.
2Your home: doorway widths, tight hallways and any steps at the entrance.
3Weight capacity: choose a chair rated comfortably above the rider’s weight. The AeroLux 2C supports up to 350 lbs.
4Where you’ll ride: smooth sidewalks and malls, or grass, gravel and uneven paths.
5Travel plans: if you’ll fly, choose an airline-compliant lithium-ion battery.
Not sure where to start? We’ll help you narrow it down, or bring the chairs to you.
The Travel Buggy AeroLux 2C is our lightest power wheelchair. It is a carbon fibre folding power chair that weighs 33 lbs and supports riders up to 350 lbs.
